‘Granville’s Garden’ (‘Jardin de Granville’), MUSEUM OF DECORATIVE ARTS (MUSEE DES ARTS DECORATIFS), CHRISTIAN DIOR EXHIBITION – Paris
William Amor has created an art installation entitled ‘Granville’s Garden’, in the window of the Museum of Decorative Arts boutique at 107 Rue Rivoli. This artwork celebrates the ‘Christian Dior, Designer of Dreams’ museum exhibition. Pieces of discarded plastic have been transformed into spring flowers in this art installation that carries a message, and is adorned with the floral symbols of the prestigious fashion house, Rose and Lily of the Valley. The artist has created artworks based on Lily of the Valley, nestling in ceramic pots, as well as an exclusive collection of jewellery inspired by flowers, including brooches and earrings, available to purchase in the boutique.
These creations are the result of transforming plastic bags and discarded materials into things of beauty, which have been hand-crafted in the style of floral embellishments that would typically be made for fashion houses.
