‘Floral Fissure’ (‘Fissure Florale’), LES CANAUX, an association supporting the social and solidarity economy – Paris

The artist has created a mural artwork for LES CANAUX, an association supporting the solidarity economy and innovation. Entitled ‘Floral Fissure’, this artwork has been designed in the style of a wall hanging. It is made up of around 300 flowers, which have been hand-crafted in the manner of a floral parurier – resembling, in other words, a piece of floral decoration typically created for the fashion industry.

Plastic bags, fishing nets and rigging ropes have been transformed through more than 450 hours of meticulous work into a beautiful sculptural creation that is laden with meaning. The petals were created thanks to the collaboration and talent of people with disabilities from a vocational rehabilitation centre (or ‘ESAT’) in Le Tremplin.
