Flower brooch for BALENCIAGA 54eme collection Haute Couture 2025 -2026 by Demna Gvasalia – Paris

In July 2025, in the historic salons of Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia, artistic director since 2015, presented his latest haute couture show for the house. Silhouettes were adorned with accessories that told a story, like the sublime flower brooches.
Designed and handmade by the artist, they symbolize the encounter between Demna’s couture universe and the poetry that William Amor brings to the upcycling movement.
In his workshop, William Amor shaped each element: stalks and leaves, taken from used paper towels from the workshop, were primed and delicately hand-painted in a subtle shade of green to imitate real leaves – a nod to Demna’s beloved trompe-l’œil. The rose petals are made from waste plastic bags collected by William Amor.
The stems and veins come from fishing nets recovered from the beaches of the Landes region. Elements of old felt, reused and sculpted polystyrene discreetly integrate the composition of these exceptional jewels. The result is one-of-a-kind works of art, where transformed waste rhymes with creation and know-how.
For this exceptional project, William Amor also collaborated with Atelier Philippe Grand, who made the metal part of the brooch in galvanized steel, hand-painted by the artist. For 2 of the rose models: the red soliflore rose and the white soliflore rose, the petals were made in silk pongee by ateliers Lemarié.
