‘Extraordinary metamorphosis’ RARE CHAMPAGNE X William Amor
For this new collaboration, William Amor imagines an ephemeral setting where metamorphosis becomes an art form celebrating the living.
Inside the pop-up store, the bottles of Rare Champagne Rosé millésimé 2014 are adorned with delicate ornaments: a Rosa Péonie, vine leaves and a crystalline sequin that encircle the neck of the bottle like a jewel.
Rosa Péonie, the emblematic note of the vintage, unfurls here in a hybrid flower with a generous heart. Derived from a recycled, pigmented plastic bag, it is reborn under the artist’s hand in a full corolla, a symbol of grace and patience.
This flower, which has become a digital passport, will accompany the buyer until 2032, when he or she will receive a Methuselah of Rare Rosé: a date set in time, like a bud promised to blossom.
The vine leaf, Vitis Vinifera ‘Rare’, is born from the champagne’s thin aluminum cap. Embossed and sculpted, it takes on its original shape: that of the founding plant, the vine that, in the shadow of the earth, nurtures the birth of wine.
Finally comes the sequin: Calculus Vitris Jactare ‘Rare’ Rosé 2014.
Mineral waste turned treasure, crystallized tartar from the vats – the mineralized heart of champagne in gestation – metamorphoses under William Amor’s patient hand. Fascinated by this biological alchemy, the artist magnifies this deposit into a precious glow, dressed in crystals with rose quartz reflections and the hues of vintage rosé.
In this pop-up, each element seems to carry a story, a second life. Even a nod to a past collaboration: the carpet on which the display credenzas are arranged comes from a project for carpet designer Balsan, designed by William Amor in 2023.
The bottle, adorned with its reclaimed ornaments, becomes a talisman.
And William Amor’s work, as always, unfolds in this singular aura: that of a poetry where neglected materials become luxuriant, where the unexpected becomes noble, where beauty emerges from what seemed lost.
Extraordinaire métamorphose celebrates the creative power of nature… and the art that reinvents it.
