“Homage to Claude Monet” — William Amor, Sainte-Radegonde Church, Giverny

September 19–December 5, 2026 · Free admission
A SPOT exhibition, presented at the invitation of the Eure Department.

In Giverny, a unique garden takes root beneath the vaults of Sainte-Radegonde Church, just a few steps from Claude Monet’s grave.

To mark the centennial of his death, William Amor has created a tribute to the painter’s vision and his attention to the subtlest variations of life. An immersive installation where the four seasons unfold like the pages of a dream garden.

Discarded plastics, abandoned metals, and wood: collected over the course of some fifteen years, these materials bear the traces of our use and our neglect. In the artist’s hands, they become flowers, foliage, and plant life. Each metamorphosis invites us to reconsider what we discard and to recognize what still deserves our attention.

Through blooms, reflections, and moments of silence, the exhibition celebrates the cycle of life. A sense of wonder opens a path to an awareness of its fragility—and of our responsibility to preserve it.

Claude Monet’s garden, reimagined by William Amor in four scenes:

Spring — The Nave with Flowering Arches
Summer — Impression of Water Lilies
Fall — The Dome with a Stained-Glass-Like Canopy of Foliage
Winter — The Ceremony in the Water Gardens

This garden has also flourished thanks to the efforts, expertise, and presence of those who have nurtured it.

His invaluable collaborators @remy.jx and @marmarbllc, who were outstanding in their assistance with production and installation; Ingrid Chausset for her dedication during her internship; and Louna Ghiotto for the embroidery.

Thank you to Carole Gaudefroy for writing the texts and serving as mediator; to her agent Valérie Henry for her unwavering support; to Damien Gallot and the team at Behind the Curtain for technical production and lighting.

Thank you to the entire team at the Eure Department, to Aurelie Roperh, Raphaëlle Jarry, and Ludivine Ponte, for their trust and kindness.

Finally, thank you to Father Christophe for his warm welcome and to the staff at Giverny City Hall.

In the church in Giverny, William Amor pays tribute to Claude Monet with four poetic works created from materials destined for the trash.

The #DeuxSept went to check out this breathtaking installation as part of SPOT. On view through December 5, 2026.

William Amor’s unique artistic vision sprang from a desire to create art that has an element of poetry, celebrates nature and helps protect the environment. Through his unique creations, which are full of meaning and evoke an emotional response, the artist offers a different perspective on the world surrounding us, including items whose presence, existence and origin we may have forgotten or disregarded.
